First off, Wednesday yoga class has been cancelled permanently due to low attendance. Thank you so much, Mike Sharlow, for your efforts. Best of luck in your yoga journey!
Sunday morning restorative yoga was well attended last week. It is such a blessing to have people enjoying this slow-paced, contemplative practice. To hear how much people love the calming, restorative effects of this type of practice on body, mind, and spirit. Lorraine D'Aversa, who started Sunday morning class, will no longer be teaching it as the Eisenhower tunnel and I-70 have not cooperated with our best intentions. So I will be teaching Sundays 9:30 to 11am. What a wonderful time to do yoga! And thank you, Lorraine. Your smiling face and good energy will be missed at Sol.
And for those of you intrigued by the public dialogue around yoga, check out this New York Times article http://www.nytimes.com/2012/01/08/magazine/how-yoga-can-wreck-your-body.html?_r=1&ref=williamjbroad.
Definately not the warm and fuzzy reviews that we often hear about yoga and its endless list of benefits but a good cautionary tale.
I'll refrain, for now, from mounting the soap box, but I'm interested in hearing your impressions.
